Mr Wilson heads the Resources Division in the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science and is responsible for policy advice and regulation relating to the Australian Government interests in off and onshore resource development. Prior to this Mr Wilson was the Executive Director, Bureau of Resource and Energy Economics (BREE). In 2012 Bruce led the Secretariat responsible for developing the Australian Government’s Energy White Paper as well as the Secretariat for the Policy Transition Group working on the new Minerals Resources Rent and Petroleum Resource Rent Taxation arrangements.
Prior to these roles Mr Wilson worked on climate change, renewable energy and sustainable development issues including Australia’s participation in the Asia Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate (APP). Mr Wilson was a member of the UNFCCC Expert Group on Technology Transfer (EGTT) and in 2010 was the final Chair of this Group. Mr Wilson has also worked on science and industry policy in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and has experience in several major industry associations.

Jane Michie Global Head of Tax, BHP
The benefits of transparency for taxpayers: the experience of a global resources company
Jane Michie is the global head of the Tax function at BHP Billiton. She has been with the Company since March 2015.
She has over 23 years of experience working in tax, the last 18 years of which have been in Australia.
Prior to joining BHP Billiton, Jane was Global Head of Tax at an investment bank (Macquarie Group Limited) and, before then, she was a partner at a tax boutique advisory firm in Sydney for 8 years.
Jane is a lawyer – she obtained her law degree from Aberdeen University in Scotland and a Masters of Law from the University of British Columbia, Victoria. She is qualified as a lawyer in Scotland, England & Wales and New South Wales (Australia).

Jonathan Rintoul Partner, EY
Successfully integrating taxation reporting into a company's disclosure programs
Jonathan Rintoul, FCA, CTA, is a partner at EY in Melbourne. Jonathan’s experience includes providing corporate tax advice and compliance services to listed, government, private and foreign-owned entities, predominantly in the resources, energy and utilities sectors. This experience is complemented by two long-term secondments into senior ‘in-house’ tax roles for listed entities, including during 2015 when Australian corporate taxpayers faced a range of new tax transparency demands in the face of increasing public interest in this issue. At the 2017 APPEA Conference and Exhibition, Jonathan presented his paper ‘Tax transparency is not just about tax’ which draws on his experience in assisting companies adopt Australia’s Voluntary Tax Transparency Code in a way that converts a reporting obligation into an opportunity to improve their standing with stakeholders.

Jeremy Hirschhorn Deputy Commissioner - Public Groups, Australian Taxation Office
Taxation administration and compliance priorities for Australia's resources sector - strengthening integrity and developing confidence
Jeremy Hirschhorn joined the ATO in August 2014, and since March 2015 has been the Deputy Commissioner for Public Groups in the Public Groups and International business line. In this role he is responsible for overseeing tax administration and compliance for all public entities. Before taking on this role, he was the ATO’s Chief Tax Counsel with responsibility for the Tax Counsel Network. Prior to joining the ATO, Jeremy was a senior partner in KPMG’s Tax Practice.
